Matthew Lawton

Matthew’s past work experience includes residential, commercial, educational and renovation projects as well as exhibition design, furniture design, and light fixture design. His work has been featured in numerous publications and exhibited in shows at the SFMOMA and 3A Gallery in San Francisco. He has been awarded several AIA awards in California and Colorado and is licensed in both states.

Matthew is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Architecture Art and Planning where he studied in Italy, and received the Charles Goodwin Sands Memorial Medal for top thesis project. Prior to establishing Sexton Lawton Architecture LLC, he worked for several award-winning design firms including Antoine Predock Architect, Mark Horton Architecture and ArchitectureDenver. Matthew has served as co-director of The Architectural Laboratory/Denver, guest critic for student work at the California College of the Arts and the University of Colorado, co-curator of 3A Gallery in San Francisco, mentor with the ACE Program and interviewer with the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network.

Matthew manages the multifamily and commercial projects for the firm, incorporating sustainable building practices whenever possible.
